According
to the national policy of remote sensing applications, LAPAN is aimed to support
the national development by providing data and information, educating,
and consulting. Those efforts help increase the quality of agriculture,
forestry, fishery, city planning, and natural environment.
The Deputy
Office of Remote Sensing Affairs is responsible to formulate the policy in
developing remote sensing applications and building the national remote
sensing databank. It also conducts technical cooperation and promotes
remote sensing issues.
In order
to succeed in those tasks, the Deputy Office functions:
a. To form the technical policy, supervise, and train in suitable fields
of work;
b. To control the execution of technical policy in suitable fields of
work;
c. To research and develop remote sensing technologies and applications,
including earth monitoring and services for users.
d. To conduct technical colaboration and remote sensing dissemination. |
